More Action Shots

I love taking pictures of the dogs running in the snow and in water. There is something about the spray that is exciting to capture. I had another look at the photos I took yesterday and was surprised that I had missed some really good ones.

Miley taking a break from the action (but not for long)

Wild eyed Emma-Lou

Paris ploughing through

Little Taboo's butt in focus. It is rare to have her in the photos as she is usually harassing me from behind. She and LuAnne were just behind me in most of the photos with Taboo taking delight in barking at me the entire time!

Here is her cute little behind again...

Paris
Stormy and Mayer both needing a head trim, but again I can't resist the snow action going on...

I can't believe I missed this one...it might be my favorite of the entire shoot. Little Bridgie getting a snoot full of snow.
Because I get asked so often, I'll tell you that I shot these photos with the Nikon D300 body and this lens.

Your dogs take to snow as if it's water play (well, I guess in a way it is :)) ... dolphins yesterday, Bridgie snorkelling today, and all those clouds of snow spray!! For sure, summer has it's attributes, but not this kind of photographic energy!

My husband and I think your photos are absolutely gorgeous (as are your dogs!). You are a wonderful photographer. Just curious: what time of day did you take these photos? The light quality is superb.

Brenda, your comments are always so much fun to read. You have a way with words. :-) Thx
Two Sheltie Lovers - thanks for your comments. I think it was around 3:30 yesterday. The sun had just come out, but it was low in the sky...I also thought the light was lovely; thanks for noticing. :-)

Love the comments too. These are superb - I'm loving that lens together with your photographic skills. Thanks so much for posting. Photographic energy indeed. They just don't get much better than these shots. I'm picturing them all collapsed in the kitchen snoozing after all that fresh air.

Suanne, they actually kept it up for about a half hour more. When I came back, I put my camera in the house and let the Poodle out. Then I proceeded to scoop the yard while they all ran around the perimiter of the fence. After that, they collapsed!

I look forward to your snow photos! My favorite of all is from last year starring Eva, Brigit, Stormy and Cocoa and titles "caught her"... what a great shot! If you invited my to your house and told me I could pick out and take home any one of your dogs, I would choose Eva. Not only is she stunning, she looks like she is a lot of fun!

ps
how are Eva's little ones doing?

Laureate February 4, 2011 at 9:54 AM

Suzanne, that photo you like is my computer wallpaper. ;-) Eva is a great character...a bit of a wild child in the yard and at meal time, yet super in the house.

Her pups are sweet and are doing well...but still have some catching up to do. The Bunny pups are two days younger but larger and fluffier. It is quite a contrast.

the photo of Paris giving Eva "the business" made me curious as to which one of your lovely ladies them is your alpha

suzanne February 5, 2011 at 10:30 PM

oops...delete "them" :)

Laureate February 6, 2011 at 1:01 AM

Paris seems to tell them off the most...so I'd say she is the top b*tch. ;-)
